Lately it’s been harder and harder to fall asleep. I have an overly active mind and imagination and this is something that has always been and I am sure will remain till my last days. But it’s not just the falling asleep part that has become difficult for me. Lately, the majority of my dreams have been bad dreams and I knew I needed to put a stop to this. My hyper active and over-achieving self led me to research the reasons and cure-alls for ‘bad dreams’ and one of my search results brought me to dream catchers.
Dream catchers are meant to protect all from bad dreams. The spider like design is meant to catch only the good dreams, that are said to trickle down the fringe and feathers into one’s mind and the bad dreams are meant to pass through the netting and disappear.
I am a spiritual person and any way to help calm my mind and alleviate stress is something that I am drawn to. I therefore became my own medicine woman and self-diagnosed that the solution to my bad dreams, is in fact a dream catcher. I am also part Iroquois and therefore this was yet another sign to try it out first hand. Native American’s believe that dream catchers helped to neutralize bad energy and this is exactly the answer I am looking for. My mom and I went on a little bit overboard with this new knowledge and we created nearly 20 new Vana Lynn one of a kind dream catcher designs that serve a dual purpose; fashion and function. These dream catchers have dual purpose; they can be worn as necklaces (to protect the wearer from bad energy) daily, as well as to place above you as you sleep (to bring only good dreams your way).
Hopefully these new dream catchers will bring you all great dreams, and will surround you with only good energy!
